Housing & Support

Housing & Support

Given the current public expenditure constraints we have a vital role in supporting Women’s Aid across Scotland demonstrate the impact of their support services, and in informing policy makers at a national and local level of the value of these support services in preventing ‘upstream costs’. Our work in this area includes a National Outcome Evaluation Project to demonstrate how well Scotland’s Women’s Aid services respond to the needs of women experiencing domestic abuse and the differences these services make to women’s lives. Our submission of evidence to the Scottish Parliament Finance Committee on preventative spend highlighted the cost benefits of funding frontline services .

We carry out annual national surveys to produce valuable data on demand and provision trends such as census day and an analysis of how current funding constraints are affecting  Women’s Aid services.
