Consultation on Rights of Children and Young People

2011

The Scottish Government’s legislative programme for 2011/2012 included two Bills for children and young people, the first of which is the ‘Rights of Children and Young People (Scotland) Bill’. The Bill aims to establish in law a duty on Scottish Ministers to give ‘due regard’ to the children’s rights and obligations set out in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC), in all of their actions.
