The Gender Equality Duty requires public authorities to publish a Gender Equality Scheme (GES) which sets out the priorities and actions they will take to further gender equality. Local authorities in Scotland are required to publish revised GESs by the end of June 2010. SWA analysed current local authority GESs and identified the extent to which they did or did not include measures to tackle violence against women.
