No Recourse to Public Funds Survey Report

2008

This report provides findings of a survey carried out with Women's Aid groups in Scotland about women who have no recourse to public funds. It explores how having no recourse to public funds affects this group of womens access to Women's Aid support services.

In May 2008 Scottish Women's Aid carried out this survey to:

  • assess how many women with no recourse to public funds approached Women's Aid services for accomodation and support
  • identify how many women and children were able to be accomodated and how many were denied access
  • calculate the cost of providing accommodation and support to this group
  • monitor Local Authorities responses to funding requests by Women's Aid groups on behalf of women in this position.
